About KTN
Korea Travel Nodes (KTN) is an independent project that helps international visitors make practical decisions about travel in Korea. It starts with a simple question before you book: will this actually work for your trip?
What KTN is for
A travel option can look plausible and still fail because of dates, ticket rules, the last train, party requirements, language, payment, or schedule constraints.
KTN looks for the point where a plausible plan stops being workable.
KTN is not an online travel agency or marketplace, and it does not turn separate services into an imaginary package.
Each guide should own a specific decision and then hand the traveler to the next useful decision or to an exact external action.
How KTN builds a route
KTN checks disqualifying facts first.
When a fact has a clear owner, current source-owner information is preferred.
A longer list is not automatically better. Research continues while new information can materially change the decision and stops when the important constraints are clear enough to compare options and build a workable route.
Software tools may assist repetitive comparison, consistency checks, and organizing information that changes over time. They do not make a source authoritative. Decision-changing facts should still trace back to checkable evidence.
Official rules, traveler reality
Official sources tell us the rules. Traveler reports often show where those rules meet the real trip.
When relevant, KTN also reviews recent traveler feedback, reviews, and relevant communities to identify practical friction such as language barriers, shuttle confusion, unexpected charges, booking problems, unclear meeting points, upselling, or onsite issues.
One bad review is a signal, not a verdict.
KTN looks for repetition, timing and context, and cross-checks factual claims before traveler reports change a recommendation.
How KTN chooses places and booking paths
KTN does not rank places simply by ratings, review counts, or commission.
Fit comes first.
Depending on the decision, relevant factors can include:
- Eligibility
- Location
- Transport
- Timing
- Price transparency
- Booking clarity
- Language
- Recent traveler experience
- Additional charges
- Current seller availability
A discount may be shown when it is currently confirmed, but price does not rescue a poor fit.
Where possible, KTN links to the exact service, product, venue, or official inquiry path rather than making the traveler restart the search on a platform homepage.

KTN discloses this relationship because it is relevant to the traveler.
Commission does not decide which option KTN recommends. An official or non-affiliate route may be the better choice.
The external provider, not KTN, handles the booking, payment, cancellation, refund, and service itself.
Keeping information current
Travel information changes.
KTN focuses on changes that can alter the traveler’s decision.
For mutable facts such as prices, schedules, seasons, ticket routes, booking conditions, or current sales status, KTN may show when the information was checked, the relevant period, or the source.
If a changing fact cannot be verified, KTN should mark the uncertainty rather than guess.
Corrections and contact
No travel guide stays perfect forever. When a decision-relevant fact changes or a source conflicts with the current guide, KTN reviews the affected route and updates it when the change can be verified.
